OK this place was magic! I have never seen anything like it
before. We literally had our own beach
front. It went ocean... sand... caravan! I could have easily stayed here for
weeks on end. There was something so amazing about falling to sleep to the
sound of lapping waves each night. Even though the caravan park we stayed at
didn’t have any pools, mini golf, giant chess or jumping pillows. We had God’s
own playground out the front and could go for a swim in the morning, build
sandcastles in the afternoon and chill out with a cold one in the evenings. This
is the outlook from the caravan-of-courage.... amazing.

Check out the million-dollar view from our bedroom window. |
The trip so far has been awesome, but really very busy. So
it was brilliant to change pace for a while and give ourselves permission to
slow down. We didn’t do school at all for the 4 days we were at Hervey. We just
swam or watched the girls paddle and play... what a joy!

The work crew. I was on decorating duty (collecting shells to adorn the masterpiece!) |

Tides, toddlers & camels were no match for our construction. |
There was an amazing water park next door to the caravan park
called Wet Side. The girls had a great time splashing and giggling in the fifty
million sprinklers and standing under the huge water bucket. On Saturday
evenings, the water park puts on a family light show. Even though this was
really brief (maybe 4 songs worth), it was so fantastic!

The water jets and lights were timed to music & woah what an effect! |
