Birthdays, big cities & tiny birds

We’ve had a blast the last few weeks. Yes we nearly froze our bottoms off, but it’s been fun. It began with Easter with my family – yay! How awesome to hang out with family. We partied on daddy’s big birthday, Aunty Kaz’s birthday and also remembered Aunty Jen’s, Uncle Daniel’s and Uncle Dean’s as well. Celebrating Easter with family (think egg hunts, spoon races and church together) was brilliant.

After Easter we headed inland to Wagga and began a treck along the Murray River. Wow what a magic part of our country! After some wild free-camping expeditions, it was on to Phillip Island for some crazy racing, penguin visiting and chocolate making. Ok yes, it was cold, like really cold.... as well as wet and windy, ugh! But I was blown away (in both senses) at how beautiful and rugged this island is. If this is what Tasmania is like, we've got to go!

Next stop the big city…. Melbourne itself. These little country kids were wowed as we checked out all the sights and sounds of this incredible metropolis. Top of the list was our visit to Planetshakers City Church (OH MY GOSH!! Jasmine & Jacob & other musos remind me to tell you more one day). We now begin the exciting journey to the start of the Great Ocean Road – yihaa!

Country kids in the big city.
Everyone look natural.... no one will know we are from the country.
The beautiful old buildings of this city were breathtaking.

Hee-ya! Posing outside the ACMI DreamWorks Exhibition.
There were lots of familiar faces in the exhibition.
It was incredible to see what was involved in the animation process.
Check out all these plaster moulds, some are just prototypes that changed later.
This is the actual small scale garden used in the Wallace & Grommit movie. Very cool!
OK we couldn't go to Melbourne without checking out The Block building!
And the most amazing place in the city? PlanetShakers City Church!
